Fans are used in ventilation systems of mine workings, they are mainly intended for ventilation of blind workings, as well as mine shafts and round-bore workings during their sinking. Fans are explosion-proof, can be used in coal mines hazardous in gas and dust, because exclude explosive situations.

The mine ventilation fan of local ventilation VME-6 axial, single-stage with an explosion-proof engine complies with GOST 6625-85 and is designed for ventilation of dead-end mines in coal and ore mines, including hazardous gas and dust, with an air density of up to 1.3 kg / m3, temperature from 253 to 308 K, dust content up to 50 mg / m3 and relative humidity up to 95% (at a temperature of plus 298 K).

The unified set of equipment allows you to select the type of control (manual or automatic), the operation of the installation in normal and reverse modes, partial control of the fan supply by changing the engine speed or turning the vanes of the guide apparatus on the go, automatically turning on the backup fan during emergency shutdowns, automatic turning on the backup input of low voltage, automatically restarting the fan drive when it is turned off during a short-term (up to 9 s) disappearance or deep drop in the mains voltage, reverse of the air stream without stopping the fan. In the event of an emergency, the installation is automatically turned off. The dispatcher is given light and sound signals. The mine fan installation in accordance with safety rules consists of two fans – a working one and a standby one and a set of means for reversing the air stream and switching from a working fan to a standby one.
